Sergeant Edelmira "Ede" Subia

Edelmira Ede SubiaHello, my name is Edelmira Subia.  I go by Ede for obvious reasons.  I am a wife, mother of three, and a grandmother of two.  I am also a member of Mid-Cities Church.

I have spent the last seventeen years of my life in law enforcement.  Most of my career has been with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.  I started in the jail and worked my way up to corporal.  After leaving the jail, I assisted and worked closely with the late Sgt. Mike Naylor in Mental Health.  I then joined the Warrants Division and was one of the founding members of the Midland County Hostage Negotiations Team for SWAT.  I was also one of the original members of the US Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.  I have spent the last eight years working in all aspects of criminal investigations, including both person’s and property crimes.  I have received extensive training in law enforcement and hold a Master Peace Officer Certificate.  In 2007, I was the first female in the State of Texas to be awarded the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year/Greg McFarlin-Max Banks Award by the Texas Sheriff’s Association.  I also was honored to receive the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Lifesaving Award.

I am excited about my new position, as it will allow us to bring both the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the wonderful Midland County community closer together.
