The District Clerk is the office of record for all Civil proceedings heard in the District Courts and County Courts at Law.
This includes: all divorces, child support, consumer lawsuits, contract disputes, custody cases, real estate, serious personal injury & tax collection cases.
The clerk is responsible for issuing all: abstracts of judgment, citations, collecting all costs of court, preparation of warrants & writs.
Criminal Section Responsibilities
The District Clerk is the office of record for all criminal proceedings heard in the District Courts. All felony indictments are filed, placed on the courts docket and the appropriate papers issued. This office is also responsible for the timely filing and preparation of clerk records for post conviction writs and appeals.
