I am an experienced law enforcement professional who has proudly served the people of Texas for almost 40 years. I was sworn in as Midland County Sheriff on April 01, 2020 and committed to leading an office defined by its integrity and professionalism.

Prior to running for Sheriff, I served the citizens of Midland County for seven years as Constable for Precinct 1. I previously served with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for 26 years and began my law enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff in Midland County.

I have over 5,000 hours of law enforcement training and hold a Master Peace Officer Certificate, an Instructor Proficiency Certificate and am a Licensed Polygraph Examiner. I have been a Licensed Peace Officer since 1981 and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas Permian Basin.

My wife Judy, and I have been married for 38 years and are members of Fannin Terrace Baptist Church.
