In accordance with the EPCRA, Section 304, if a release of an Extremely Hazardous Substance is at or above its applicable Reportable Quantity, Tier II facilities must notify the LEPC for any areas likely to be affected by the release.
Additionally, a facility must notify the LEPC if there is an accidental release of a hazardous substance listed under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).
